LIDAR Speed Measurement Devices:

The BLINDER Models 27 and 47 X-TREME have been loaded with specific information to counter LIDAR speed measuring devices used in USA. The reason why we only load information for the United States is to limit the size of the information stored in the BLINDER's memory. Thus making it "blindingly fast" at returning the correct counter-measure frequency.
The CPU needs to make quick calculations in the shortest possible time. Limiting the size of the "Look-up" table makes this possible. This is also the reason why BLINDER have firmware upgrades for specific countries. ONLY load Software Updates from the country for which your BLINDER X-TREME has been specifically made. Loading the wrong firmware could leave you vulnerable to Police Laser threats.

LIDAR Jammers - Are They Legal in USA?

Although Radar Jammers are illegal in every state in USA, this is not the case with Laser Jammers. Most states do NOT have laws prohibiting the use of Laser Jammers. The states that currently prohibit the use of Laser Jammers are California, Utah, Colorado, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Tennessee, Illinois, Virgina and South Carolina, and Texas as of September 2011.

One interesting fact is that the wavelength of infrared light 904nm - 906nm used by Police Laser guns is not a legally restricted spectrum, meaning that it is open for general use. Devices like laser parking devices, TV remote controllers and anything else that you can think of does not require a license to operate in this frequency spectrum.
