Blinder Update Process

There is no DL cycle after these settings are changed..Try this with different park sensor ports to prove if needed..

The software is laid out in two parts..Firmware update/repair on the left, and user options on the right.. My $.02.. Hope you get it worked out..

Do I need to do the 2.2 USA repair or just go ahead with the 2.6 USA. below_the_radar seems to have the instructions a little different from yours. He said to do both 2.2 USA repair and 2.6 USA?

I did the 2.2USA first, then did the next steps after that I did the 2.6 USA and everything went just fine. I think you need to make sure you turn off the jammers before you disconnect the cpu from your car.

I've always turned off the switch before taking out the CPU. The problem is the update process does not tell you if you did the process correctly. It only tells you that changes have been saved. Maybe Blinder USA can make user friendly instructions on their website or manual for future references.

During the update process there is a progress bar that tells you how far it has progressed. Once it gets to 100% it will tell you update was successful.

Okay, so I'll racap everything and feel free to correct anything I missed. Thanks for all your help.

1. Remove CPU from vehicle
2. Plug CPU to computer
3. Highlight "2.2 USA repair" in the menu on the left
4. Click " Save CPU setting"
5. Remove CPU from computer
6. Return to vehicle
7. make sure jammer system is off
8. plug in all cables/wires back
9. turn on jammer system to mode II(system beeps 2x then turn green)
10. turn off jammer system
11. turn on jammer system again to mode II (system beeps 2x then turn green)
12. turn off system
13. remove CPU from vehicle again
14. connect CPU back to computer
15. highlight "2.6 USA" in the menu
16. click update CPU firmware (status bar shows DL in progress)
17. once done, remove CPU
18. Plug all cables back to CPU
19. turn jammer system to mode II (system flashes and beeps programming the heads)
20. once done, turn off system
21. turn system on to mode II (beeps 2x then turns green)
22. turn off system, remove CPU
23. connect back to computer
24. highlight "2.6 USA"
25. select "jamming time" and "alarm time after jamming"
26. click " save CPU settings"
27. remove from computer
28. attach all cables to CPU
29. turn jammer system to mode II (beeps 2x and turns green)
30. system ready to use

Or I can do "jamming time and alarm time after jamming" together after 15 then update CPU firmware. Then I don't have to do 22 to 30.

Step 4 should read the same as step 16 "click update CPU firmware (status bar shows DL in progress)" . Step 9 should read the same as step 19. "system flashes and beeps programming the heads" as it will revert the heads back to the 2.2 repair code. And you are correct that steps 22-30 are not needed, you can do both at once. Also don't forget to include ahead of step 1 to turn the Jammer system off first.

The problem I encountered might have been because I purchased one of the first M27s and then flashed it with the first update Blinder released on their site, and then all subsequent USA updates. I found it necessary for me to flash the 2.2 USA repair code first before any subsequent code updates gave any indication that it was flashing the heads, including 2.6. I'll have to see if this is necessary with the next code releases or not.

Finally updated my jammer heads this morning. Did the update CPU firmware at #4 and #16. I did get the fast continuous blinking on both occasions followed by 2 beeps then constant green. Turned off then turned on to mode II and I got the 2 beeps then constant green. Thanks for all your help guys.

The good thing about the first batch of 27s is you can program INT. or USA into it. I believe it was up to serial # to 999 I believe? If your box had no pic on it and the box was all white you have an early unit.
