MINI Cooper - M27 and V1 install

OK!

M27 heads:


The provided brackets are screwed to bottom edge of extruded aluminum bumper. Heads are squeezed between brackets, and held by 3M tape and copious quantities of Gorilla tape. Straight and level and solid. Cutouts in the grille to clear them.



Switch mounted where I can reach it easily with my left hand while driving. Original 3-position switch failed. Replaced with a bigger two position switch which matches my water/meth switch below. Oh well, no parking mode.
The small 3-position switch is for my driving lights. You can also see my Cobra 18 DX IV and my water/meth controller, and my bundled-up OBD cable for when I need to attach my laptop.

The Blinder LED is wedged between my tach and speedo, above my V1 remote display w/custom LEDs. I'm still playing around with alternate locations for the LED. Remote display is attached with velcro so it can be ripped off and tossed on the shelf below if appropriate.


My V1 remote audio control - so I can adjust audio or turn off the V1 without touching the main unit. It's right in front of my right knee. The Blinder audio is gonna be stuck to the bottom of it when I'm done. Right now it's just lying on the shelf.


V1 main unit, wrapped in a black mesh footie. Still picks up radar and laser just fine - but doesn't look like anything from outside or inside the car. Important because sometimes I leave the top down.

Looks good, I like the M27 heads. Do you have any pics of the actual install in the honeycomb grille?

I screwed the L-brackets onto the bottom edge of this. Heads are squeezed and taped (not screwed) between the L-brackets, at the proper orientation and angle. Grille just has matching rectangular cutouts. No mechanical connection between the heads and grille.

Looks good Blimey.. Heads look low to me, but I'm no expert..You have quite a bit of stuff in that car.. Cool..

thats what i said. but then you have to remember how small that car actually is. its puny!

Thanks - yeah, ideally I would have wanted them a few inches higher... but then I'm cutting metal... grrr.

But like aa2033 likes to point out (over and over again)... there's not much car there.

I'm just compensating for my enormous manhood.
